CONTEST RULES
·
All books
entered must have an original copyright or first US printing date of 2005.
·
Each category
must have at least five entries to be judged.
If you do not mark an alternate category, and your first choice
category fails to achieve the five required entries, your entry(ies), as well as any associated entry fee(s), will be
returned.
·
The reader
judges will keep the copies of your books, so please autograph your books
as a courtesy.
·
E-published
books must be submitted in either
book format or in a bound landscape galley format.
·
Score sheets
will be returned only if a SASE is included. Otherwise they'll be destroyed.
·
There is a limit
of two books per author per category. A book can't be entered into more than
one category. Each entry must be
accompanied by a separate entry form, but you may write one check for all entry
fees, payable to Wisconsin RWA.
·
Entries must be received
no later than midnight January 14, 2006.
Late entries will be returned. If
the deadline falls on a national holiday with no mail service, the deadline
will automatically be extended by one day.
·
Official entry
consists of THREE copies of each
book, one entry form per book entered, and $25.00 entry fee per each book
entered.
·
Mail entry
materials to:

·
Entries will be
judged by romance readers certifying not to be members of any
professional writing organization or associated with the publishing industry in
any way, other than a reader.
·
In the case of
lost or missing score sheets (due to judge error or problems with mail
delivery), all reasonable efforts will be made to obtain scores from reader
judges, including, but not limited to, e-mail, phone or fax. WisRWA is not responsible for lost or missing
score sheets. If hard copies of score
sheets are unobtainable, and scores were received by some other means, entrants
will be informed as to those scores if they requested score sheets be returned
to them. If scores are unable to be obtained
through alternative means (other than the hard copies of score sheets), a final
score for that particular entry or entries will be derived by averaging all
scores that have been received for that entry or entries. In this case, if the entrant has requested
that score sheets be returned, all of the available score sheets will be
returned.
·
Finalists will
be notified by mail no later than April 15, 2006.
·
Winners and
finalists will be recognized at WisRWA's WRITE TOUCH
CONFERENCE in June 2006, and invited to participate in the book signing reception.
·
A plaque will be
awarded to the winner in each category.
Certificates will be awarded to the finalists in each category.
·
Contest results
may be listed in WisRWA's THE WRITE TOUCH newsletter,
on WisRWA's web site, and the winners will be published
in the ROMANCE WRITER'S REPORT. Results
may also be posted in WisRWA's PAN newsletter, JUST
THE WRITE TOUCH, which is distributed to publishing houses, area libraries and
bookstores, and RWA regional chapters.
