a surefire guarantee of excellent reading. Her perceptive eye and impressive craftmanship make each of her touching love stories a joy to savor." ~ Romantic Times
As a child, Celeste Hamilton was certain she would become an actress.
Make-believe was her favorite game. On the East Tennessee farm where she
grew up, she played a hundred roles. Tragic princess. Conquering warrior-goddess.
Sophisticated lady. She fueled her imagination with books, but it was
the characters she created in her head who were the real escape from her
plain, ordinary self.
Just in case the acting didn't pan out, Celeste had a fall-back position--writing. Her 5th grade teacher (a genius, Celeste was sure) told her she was a natural writer. Eventually, it was the writing that took over Celeste's life. She graduated in 1979 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (Go Vols!) With a degree in Communications, she went immediately to work as a copywriter at a radio station. She wrote and produced award-winning commercials, brochures and print advertising before she could no longer ignore her need to write fiction. Her first book was published by Silhouette in 1987. Her 20+ titles have been consistent bestsellers. Celeste loves to write about the emotional ties that bind families together and sometimes tear them apart. Her stories are character studies, not too far removed from the plays she used to act out in the hayloft and fields on her family's farm. Family is her passion. Her encouraging and supportive parents, brothers and sister and their significant others. Her beautiful niece and two handsome nephews. Her kind mother-in-law, who defies every stereotype. And last, but not least, her husband, who puts up with those times when the stories Celeste has to tell take precedence over the demands of real life. (You know--dinner, bills, dusting. . .) She hopes to continue spinning those tales forever. (And avoiding as much of the real stuff as she can!)
