Johnny Shooter
was sentenced to hang at noon. But Judge Isaac Parker, widely known as
the “Hanging Judge”, made Johnny an
offer he couldn ’t
refuse.
The Judge made him a Deputy United States Marshal and sent
his new deputy after the “worst of the worst” outlaws the
Indian Territory had to offer, with orders not to burden his court
by bringing them back for trial.
It was said around many outlaw campfires, “The only thing worse than
standing in front of the hanging judge was hearing that Johnny
Shooter was on your trail.”

Reviews & Quotes
"This is an outstanding
tale of a man who is given a second chance at life.
SHOOTER
pulls you in at the introduction and does not let you go until
the last sentence. The story is so believable that at times
you have to wonder if it is fact instead of fiction. Set in
the late 1870s in the Indian Territories, SHOOTER gives you
a realistic view of that time period. Johnny and Libby's relationship
is a sweet romance that will pull at your heart.
Johnny is definitely a hero with a heart while the Choctaw
Kid is a true outlaw with a heart of stone.
Mr. Dusty Rhodes
has made me an instant fan with SHOOTER. My fingers are
itching to read more of his books..."
