When I began reading romance,
the first line I read was Silhouette Special Edition. It’s
remained a favorite and I’m delighted to release my first
Special Edition, A Candle for Nick.
Nick, the precocious ten-year-old son of the heroine, Mallory Brenner,
is diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia early in the story. Soon
after I finished the proposal for this book, my husband was diagnosed
with the same disease. I wrote the rest of the story while he battled
for his life, a battle he lost in October 2005. This book is dedicated
to his memory.
This past year I’ve learned to live on my own. I’ve dealt
with an air conditioner dripping through the ceiling, carpal tunnel
surgery, and a midnight encounter with a large possum who took up residence
in my bathroom. What do you do when a possum is sitting on your bathroom
counter in the middle of the night? Shut the door, go back to sleep,
and deal with it in the morning.
I’ve posted pictures of my most recent vacation: a trip
to Russia with my sister in September. Except for nearly losing our luggage
in the Moscow airport, we had a wonderful time.
I hope readers will enjoy my first Special Edition. I’d love
to hear from you.
