Once
a Rake
Indulge
your wicked side...
by Rona Sharon ~ Zebra Books ~ December
2007
Irrisistible
seduction only leads to...
War
had scarred the Earl of Ashby’s face… and perhaps his
soul. Before being wounded in the Napoleonic war and shunning society,
the dashing lord had been a notorious rake. Now, Isabel Aubrey,
a proper lady, dares to approach the masked, reclusive nobleman
for a large donation to a worthy charity—and decides she
must save him from his self-loathing. She begins to flirt. He responds.
She invites him to a masquerade ball. He accepts and dazzles her
with a kiss.
The
most scandalous passion...
But
Isabel already has a fiancé and despite her attraction
to the earl she knows she must reject him. Yet no force on earth
is greater than the passion that leads her into his bed; nothing
she has ever experienced is more exciting and erotic. Now he
asks her to stay with him although it will mean her ruin. Isabel
must not say yes—and the smitten earl cannot let her say
no. To win her body and her heart, he initiates an outrageous
scheme that only a rake would devise—and no woman can resist.

Praise
for Rona Sharon and MY WICKED PIRATE...
"MY
WICKED PIRATE is what I’ve been missing in Historical
Romance. The novel had me riveted to my seat as the action
leapt from the pages. A heck of an adventure on the high
seas…one that I haven’t read in along time… I
devoured it slowly as Rona wrote with daring action and captivating
passion. My Wicked Pirate will have any reader riveted until
the adventure is long over. I look forward to what Rona Sharon
has to offer next, she is a writer that will prove to be
exciting and innovative with her writing yet retaining everything
a romance reader holds dear. (A Keeper!)"
~
Laurel Letherby, The
Mystic Castle

"I
was ready for something entertaining and got more than I
bargained for. MY WICKED PIRATE is my kind of book, it has
a bit of everything in it, suspense, romance, intrigue, historical
figures and facts and above all an elegant wicked pirate
that gets his lady in the end, who gets her Prince Charming,
even if he was in disguise."
~
Lainey, Coffee
Time Romance
"Sharon
debuts with a remarkable concoction of great dyed-in-the-wool
romance writing and well-researched historical themes that
add up to a treat for historical fans and romance lovers
alike. My Wicked Pirate is so good, because Sharon captures
in Eros the arrogant charm that makes foreign guys so appealing
and infuriating, but tempers it with vulnerability that makes
him appealing, not whiny – the distinguishing mark
of the true Alpha male. Oh, yes. Pirate romance is returned
in rare form, and you’ll get a rare high-seas treat."

"Rona
Sharon is an author to be on the lookout for. Her first release,
MY WICKED PIRATE, is absolutely stunning! It is a deeply
passionate and romantic story filled with adventure and surprises.
Pull on your breeches and boots and get ready to set sail
on a voyage with one sexy and devilish pirate! (A Keeper!)"

In
the summer of 2005, Rona Sharon left her career in the corporate
world and hopped on a plane to New York City, determined to slam
pitch her wickedly inspired manuscript at the Writer's
Digest Writers Conference prior
to BookExpoAmerica.
A year later,
her debut romance novel, MY WICKED PIRATE from Kensington Books,
is proclaimed by New York Times bestselling author Rosemary
Rogers, "A rich, sweeping, passionate read. Rona Sharon instantly
takes her place among the romance greats!"
Rona’s
newest historical romance, ONCE A RAKE, is set in the Regency period
and scheduled for release in December 2007. Rona lives on the scenic
Mediterranean Coast
in sunny Tel
Aviv, conveniently surrounded by 3000
years of history and spiritualism that nourish her plump Muse.
She has a passion for storytelling and traveling, and an amazing
family
she can’t live without.

Come
closer… er, not too close! Ah, there you are. Welcome
to Agraba, the city of mystery and enchantment…
— thus
begins my favorite Disney Classic, ALADDIN, as a funny little man
in a striped tunic tries to sell us his goods and enthralls us
in a magical
tale of love and glory. What a storyteller!
Hello
readers! My name is Rona Sharon, a debut storyteller from Tel
Aviv, Israel,
eager to enthrall you in another magical tale
of love and glory, set in the 18th century. Why do I write in
English and not in Hebrew? You may ask. For two reasons: a. To
my deepest
regret, this fine literary genre we all love doesn’t exist
in my sunny country on the Mediterranean Sea—which is why I
am most likely Barnes & Noble’s #1 on-line shopper
of romances; and b. How many of you read Hebrew? Well, then,
since
I am a fan
of American romance novels but also a foreigner from across
the Atlantic Ocean, think of me as that funny little man in
the striped
tunic
about to sweep you into a wickedly romantic adventure! MY
WICKED PIRATE is a black-haired, blue-eyed devil I invented
during an amazing
vacation in Lake Como in Northern Italy. What is the
connection between a ruthless pirate prowling the High Seas and
a palazzo in
Northern Italy? That’s what Lady Alanis struggles to solve
from the moment she sets eyes on her darkly irresistible captor,
who stormed her ship off the coast of Jamaica and offered to
show her the world outside her golden cage. Set on the milky
path toward
matrimony with the viscount of her grandfather’s choice,
Alanis realizes this may be her onetime opportunity to taste
sunshine and
freedom and glimpse the fuller, richer life she truly desires.
And so begins her Indiana Jones style adventure to the Kasbah
of Algiers,
the vine-run Tuscany,
and the glamorous ballrooms of Europe. Yet no matter how intensely
attracted she is to her Machiavellian
escort,
Alanis must curb her passions, for where he loves, he does
not desire… and
where he desires, he cannot love. Her wicked pirate must surrender
first and reveal his secret, or lose the one woman who knows
his heart and tempts his libido beyond reason. But how could
he surrender
when this fiery goddess of grace is the woman liable to bring
about his downfall? My
next historical romance, ONCE A RAKE,
is set in the Regency period in England
and is scheduled for release in December 2007.
