In the Court of King Henry VIII,
Your Friends and Enemies Can Be One and the Same…
England, 1518. During the annual celebration of the Order of the Garter, Michael Devereaux arrives in King Henry VIII’s court on a mission for his benefactor. The celebration’s endless feasts and sumptuous women delight the charismatic newcomer, who becomes captivated by the enigmatic Princess Renée de Valois of France. But evil, it seems, has followed him to court…
Shortly after Michael’s arrival, an unknown killer claims several victims, including the queen’s lady-in-waiting, and the powerful Cardinal Wolsey asks Michael to help with the investigation. As he searches for the killer, Michael is haunted by disturbing images of the victims—flashes of violence that lead him to doubt his own sanity. Michael soon realizes that the key to solving the crime is connected to both the pope’s imperial vault in Rome and a mystery from Michael’s own past—revealing a secret that is so damning, it could forever alter the future of mankind.
Powerfully evocative and steeped with detail from the breathtaking era of the Tudors, ROYAL BLOOD is historical storytelling at its richest—an unforgettable tale of intrigue, passion, and danger.
Rona Sharon is the author of two historical romance novels and a forthcoming historical fiction novel. Come
closer… er, not too close! Ah, there you are. Welcome
to Agraba, the city of mystery and enchantment…
— thus
begins my favorite Disney Classic, ALADDIN, as a funny little man
in a striped tunic tries to sell us his goods and enthralls us
in a magical
tale of love and glory. What a storyteller!
Hello
readers! My name is Rona Sharon, a debut storyteller from Tel
Aviv, Israel,
eager to enthrall you in another magical tale
of love and glory, set in the 18th century. Why do I write in
English and not in Hebrew? You may ask. For two reasons: a. To
my deepest
regret, this fine literary genre we all love doesn’t exist
in my sunny country on the Mediterranean Sea—which is why I
am most likely Barnes & Noble’s #1 on-line shopper
of romances; and b. How many of you read Hebrew? Well, then,
since
I am a fan
of American romance novels but also a foreigner from across
the Atlantic Ocean, think of me as that funny little man in
the striped
tunic
about to sweep you into a wickedly romantic adventure!
MY
WICKED PIRATE is a black-haired, blue-eyed devil I invented
during an amazing
vacation in Lake Como in Northern Italy. What is the
connection between a ruthless pirate prowling the High Seas and
a palazzo in
Northern Italy? That’s what Lady Alanis struggles to solve
from the moment she sets eyes on her darkly irresistible captor,
who stormed her ship off the coast of Jamaica and offered to
show her the world outside her golden cage. Set on the milky
path toward
matrimony with the viscount of her grandfather’s choice,
Alanis realizes this may be her onetime opportunity to taste
sunshine and
freedom and glimpse the fuller, richer life she truly desires.
And so begins her Indiana Jones style adventure to the Kasbah
of Algiers,
the vine-run Tuscany,
and the glamorous ballrooms of Europe. Yet no matter how intensely
attracted she is to her Machiavellian
escort,
Alanis must curb her passions, for where he loves, he does
not desire… and
where he desires, he cannot love. Her wicked pirate must surrender
first and reveal his secret, or lose the one woman who knows
his heart and tempts his libido beyond reason. But how could
he surrender
when this fiery goddess of grace is the woman liable to bring
about his downfall?
My
next historical romance, ONCE A RAKE,
is set in the Regency period in England
and is scheduled for release in December 2007.
