Joan Van Nuys ~ My Library

In all our lives there are a few special people who touch us with friendship, laughter, and unforgetable stories.  This page is offered in loving memory of our dear friend, Joan Van Nuys, author, musician, wife, mother, grandmother, friend.

Joan passed suddenly from this life on Saturday, May 20th, 2000, but she lives on in the memories of all who knew her.  This brief quote from a letter she wrote to her readers gives us a glimpse of her own belief in the power of love and memories ...

"My husband, my fortress for 45 years, was a part of every hero I ever created. I lost him to cancer in 1994, and my heart went with him. But he lives on in my daughters and granddaughters, in my memories and in the books I've written." ~ Joan Van Nuys

Thanks for the memories, Joan!
 This is for you ...

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds encircling flight.
I am the soft star ashine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there, I did not die.
